Having studied her A-Levels in Geography, History and Government & Politics at Truro and Penwith College, Holly is now a student at the University of Birmingham doing a BA in International Relations. She is hoping to complete SCITT teacher training in the year 2018-19.
“I would describe college as some of the most stressful but wonderful years of my educational life! I found college challenging yet equally rewarding. My time at Truro & Penwith College was filled with growth, excitement, new responsibility, and the most amazing friends I could ever ever ask for! Safe to say I miss it!”
Holly said that one of her favourite things about the college was the lecturers and tutors. “Their teaching was inspired and cannot be rivalled. Even three years down the line they still support me and stay in touch – I could never have achieved what I did and continue to do without there guidance and support.”
“My time at college helped me grow as an individual both academically and emotionally.” Holly continued. “It taught me to be resilient when work got tough and gave me the confidence to ask of help when I needed it.”
“I loved my courses at college because the teaching and learning encouraged me to be curious and expand my thinking beyond the “GCSE” way of thinking. The course always encouraged me to discover how far I could go.”
Holly said the highs and lows during her time at college shaped her experience there. “It helped me to become who I am today.”
